Continuing Education – Are you Self-Propelled?
“Self-Propelled” Professionals are a Businesses Best Asset
Success overall, depends largely on your mind’s momentum
I’ve heard it said that a truly motivated, forward-thinking business professional spends an average of 10 – 15 hours each month on continuing education. Over a 12 month period, that equates to 120 – 180 hours of boosting your knowledge base through: 1) Seminars, webinars and trade show presentations; 2) Participating in advanced courses of study; 3) Reading, internet research and data collection; 4) Car audio recordings and videos; and 5) Your choice of any of the mind-expanding resources that are out there and available to you. What good is the ISPA Conference anyways?
Well, let me count the ways…
I love seeing my baby-boomin spa friends looking even better this year, not older!
I love that perfectionism is our goal, not our downfall
I love that we cry when we see beauty before us
I love seeing us practice what we preach
I love that many of us believe what is meant to be, will be
I love that the rest of us believe that we make happen, what happens
I love how we welcome newbies and worship our legends
I love that we’re more comfortable, wearing more comfortable shoes
I love that we’ll still devour a “treat”, in this case, a potato smothered in cheese sauce
I love that we continue to search for ways to prove our absolute dedication to SPA.

Lesson #1: Finances - Numbers are boss
A beautiful spa without spreadsheets, is like a sports car without wheels…
Misconception: “I’m not good at finances.”
Lesson: It’s your fear, not your ability that’s preventing you from knowing the truth. Continue Reading…

Yin: Feminine Energy
In yoga we talk about Yin and Yang energy, our feminine and masculine qualities. Every person requires both of these energies in the workplace. It’s not about balance, it’s about ‘energetic play’, the dance of ‘pull’ and ‘push’— the duality and polarity that exists in each and every one of us. Continue Reading…
Workplace Polarity: Mastering the Push & Pull in our Relationships – Part 3 of 4
Masculine: Yang Instinct and onwards
Other circumstances in our day require Yang instinct, our masculine energy. We can’t be in the now so much that we fail to think about the future. We need to stay grounded in the practical world and be able to function in a setting that has rules and policies. Continue Reading…

Facing Workplace Challenges
The ability to convey our message in a caring, constructive manner, should we decide it does need to be said, is the third variable in mastering the push and pull.
As a Spa Professional, maybe you feel the need to make your Leader aware that you need stronger moral support and caring guidance in dealing with the stresses you endure daily. Continue Reading…
