Staff Business Cards


A question submitted to Spas2b:

Is this an automatic “gift” upon employment? Or once the staff member has completed a successful 3-6 month probationary period, do you issue them then? Are businesses sharing the cost with staff?


Our Response:

Business cards are a great idea in many ways and can act as a great value incentive for staff.

The cards promote personalized service; relationship building; professional courtesy and convenience; etc., as well as giving the staff member a sense of importance and a fit in the company.

A 6-month probationary period makes good sense, in that once they have shown their commitment to you, you respond with a reward.

Some businesses request a 50% contribution from the staff member. This sometimes acts as a good tell tale sign with regards to their future intentions. It’s also a legitimate request on your part, as you are not only promoting the business, but the therapist personally – we all know how expenses have a tendency to mount.
